Creative Assignment: Sticker Design
I created a sticker sheet design using Procreate. The two stickers are inspired by my favorite plants–avocado and the patho plant. They are one of my motivations in life. I take care of them every day and hope they can thrive in my tiny apartment. They both carry a lot of personal meanings for me because they symbolize growth and prosperity. In the end, I also added a grid background to make my sticker sheet cuter and more welcoming.

ReplyDeleteI love your sticker design and how it symbolizes motivation for you. I know this was a purely digital project but I’d be interested to see these stickers in the real world using the environment around it to bring in the context of motivation perhaps they’re what can brighten a rainy day, or make a long commute feel better. It could be interesting to see them in your car, or on the train, or against a rainy window.
Great work!
Hi Joyce! I love your avocado sticker design! It's so cute. Knowing that your stickers are inspired by the plants you take care of every day makes it more meaningful and personal. The warm, positive meaning behind avocado and pothos really comes through. The grid background also makes the whole sheet look even more interesting. If I saw these in a stationery store, I'd honestly want to buy them. Thanks for sharing your work!
ReplyDeleteDear Joyce,
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely stickers that reflect your interest and care for the object. The question that came to mind, as I worked on designing stickers for my project, too, was: why does the artist design the background of the stickers? Since people design stickers, even ones that are meant to be cut out according to the silhouette, they naturally fill the background. In my current mind, it seems to be a form of presentation just like how food is served in certain platings.
Thank you for sharing your plants.
