Digital Collage - Fantastical Landscape

    I used Photoshop to create my digital collage on the theme of fantastical landscapes. The scene is inspired by a dream I had recently, in which I met my childhood crush and friends from elementary school again after many years of disconnection. Even though we may not see each other again in reality, I still dream about it. The dream fulfilled my hope of meeting all of my childhood friends.

    For my collage, I thought about the imagery of crossing paths, so I added pathways converging in the background. The two bikes represent the main mode of transportation to school. I placed the two characters in the center and added dialogue. Additionally, I incorporated scenes of a school and my hometown to create a sense of nostalgia.

    Since this is the very first digital collage I have made, I feel very sentimental about the potential of digital collage as a medium. I was able to express myself by selecting, composing, and arranging different photos and transforming them into visual ideas. I have found Photoshop to be a very helpful tool because of the wide range of features it offers, such as image filters, masking tools, selection tools, and saturation adjustments. Most of all, I recognized that I take artistic ownership of this piece of work,
even if these images are found online.
