Stop Motion Animation
Fuzzy Winter: A lovely collaboration with Chenyu and Mila
Process: It was our very first time collaborating on stop-motion animation in a three-dimensional form. Throughout the process, each of us gathered materials and prepared elements to put together the final scene. We were all very open-minded and enthusiastic about this new form of media. I felt like our team could make anything possible! Here are some behind-the-scenes moments:
Final animation:
The final came out very nicely and took us hours to shoot, edit, and add sounds. We created a funny story and characters that seem dramatic on the outside but deep on the inside. During the making process, the three of us constantly switched between two roles: cameraman and the hands that move the characters. It felt exhilarating when our vision became real, and I really enjoyed this collaboration! I hope everyone can have fun and enjoy it!

This stop-motion looks like such a blast to make! I’m obsessed with the mix of those fuzzy characters and the 2D cat and dog cut-outs. I love the contrast. For some reason, the video won’t play on my end, but I’d love to see it in action!
ReplyDeleteI like how you use stop-motion to create a whole new story, it looks very warm and interesting. All the character designs look so cute.
ReplyDeleteHey Joyce! I can tell that this stop-motion took so much effort from your team, and it was all completely worth it! From the storytelling, to each person’s voice acting, you really put your all into this assignment. Having seen the other work you’ve made, both in this class and beyond, I can really tell that you have such a creative imagination and voice as a storyteller. I’d love to hear what other stories you have, and to work on a stop-motion animation with you in the future.
ReplyDeleteHi Joyce! I was so captivated by this piece when we watched it in class. The amount of work you all put into the construction, production, sound design, and editing really shows through. I have always loved the tactile nature inherent in stop motion, and your use of materials is no exception. These characters are adorable and memorable, and I hope to see more from this cinematic universe!
